Guinness World Record Attempt by Redeem Ltd and the RSPB - Largest donation of used mobile phones in one week – single location collections

MacDonald and Matheson Verify World Record

Councillor Angus MacDonald, SNP candidate for Falkirk East recently joined his colleague Michael Matheson MSP, SNP candidate for Falkirk West at Redeem in Falkirk to take part in the counting and verification process of all the old mobile phones donated to the RSPB for its recycling appeal in conjunction with Redeem Ltd to beat the existing Guinness World Record.

The process involved counting all phones that had been donated by RSPB supporters from across the UK throughout the week of 7-13 February 2010.

The total number of phones counted in this process totalled 6130.

Angus MacDonald said:

"I was very pleased to attend the verification process, and witness 6130 phones being donated to the RSPB, via Redeem.

"I hope this will break the previous world record and I look forward to receiving confirmation of this in the near future."
