Grangemouth SNP Councillor and MSP for Falkirk East, Angus MacDonald has welcomed plans by Falkirk Council’s Education Services for Grangemouth and Bo'ness primary schools to be first in line for bandwidth upgrades. Four Grangemouth Primary Schools have been earmarked for completion of bandwidth upgrades prior to the start of the 2011-12 academic year (Beancross PS, Bowhouse PS, Moray PS (including Oxgang), & Sacred Heart PS), with Kinneil and St Mary's Primary School's in Bo'ness also scheduled for early installation. Deanburn Primary is in line for an upgrade next year. All of Falkirk Council’s secondary schools have already been upgraded.
Commenting, Cllr MacDonald said:
“I am very pleased that Grangemouth and Bo'ness primary schools are to be the latest tranche of schools to receive bandwidth upgrades. This will place each school in a better position to take advantage of on-line learning, communication and collaboration tools including Glow which is now seen as integral to the development and rollout of Curriculum for Excellence.”
Additional tranches will be rolled out throughout the district from 2011 to 2015.
