POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION REGARDING GRANGEMOUTH FIRES

Inspector Billy Drummond has contacted Angus MacDonald MSP about their appeal for information regarding two separate fires in the Grangemouth area.
The first occurred on Friday November 16 at 7pm at Carronvale Homes, Wood Street in Grangemouth. In excess of 3000 wheelie bins, worth a five figure sum, were set on fire.
The second incident took place at La Porte Precinct in Grangemouth at 7.30pm on Saturday November 17. Several households were evacuated from flats due to a fire which started in a small food recycling container.
No-one was seriously injured in either incident. Police are treating the fires as suspicious and are keen to speak to anyone who was in these areas around these times.
A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said:
“We believe both incidents are linked and we urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible.”
