Plans on Track for New School to Open in 2016
Falkirk East MSP Angus MacDonald has welcomed progress on the new Carrongrange ASN School. Two sites have been shortlisted for the new additional support needs school which is due to be completed in late 2016. The project is part of the Scottish Government’s ‘Schools for the Future’ programme.
The school, designed for pupils with a range of additional support needs, is currently located adjacent to Larbert High School. Once the new school has been built the existing school will become part of the current Larbert High School which is reaching capacity.
The two selected sites are at Weedingshall in Polmont and at land adjacent to Moray Primary in Grangemouth.
Welcoming progress on the plans Falkirk East MSP Angus MacDonald said:
“I am delighted that progress is being made on the new Carrongrange Additional Support Needs School. Funding for the new school from the Scottish Government’s ‘Schools for the Future’ programme is very welcome.
“The school will allow pupils with additional support needs to learn in the best environment and I look forward to further progress with this project over the coming months.
“This is also fantastic news for Falkirk district’s construction sector with the project offering some certainty to one of Scotland’s key industries, providing a welcome boost to our economic recovery locally”.
