People with epilepsy will appreciate seeing MSPs turn Scotland purple on Wednesday 26 March when Angus MacDonald MSP wears a ribbon for international Purple Day. He will join Epilepsy Scotland supporters who are raising awareness by holding purple-themed fun activities in local schools and workplaces across the country.  Social media followers have also taken up the charity’s Turn Scotland Purple campaign.  Iconic landmarks like The SSE Hydro and Oban’s McCaig’s Tower are being floodlit in violet tones.  Even sheep at the Pyramid Business Park on the M8 will go purple!

Member of Cross-Party Group in the Scottish Parliament on Epilepsy Angus MacDonald MSP said:

“I’m supporting Purple Day because epilepsy is such a common condition yet many of us still know little about it. Nearly 700 of my constituents are directly affected. I believe it is important to support Epilepsy Scotland’s Turn Scotland Purple campaign and get people talking.  It’s a simple thing to wear a purple ribbon and share the reason for it with people who ask me.  I’m keen to help break down the social stigma that’s linked to epilepsy."
