Angus MacDonald MSP has expressed his delight that Falkirk Community Trust’s “Are You Dancing?” project in Falkirk East constituency has been short listed to go forward to the public vote on STV’s regional news for People’s Millions 2014.
The “Are You Dancing?” project will appear on STV East news on the night of Monday 24th November, with the winner awarded a grant of up to £50,000. A bonus award will also be made in each region to the runner up that receives the most votes. The phone number to vote will be made available on Monday 24th November.
Mr MacDonald commented:
“I was delighted to hear that “Are You Dancing?” has been short-listed and I have lodged a motion congratulating the project to the Scottish Parliament.”
“This project will provide a weekly programme of creative dance workshops for 150 children aged 5 – 16 years who have Additional Support needs. The group will work with 10 schools in the Falkirk Council area speaking to teachers, support workers and dance artists to produce a learning resource pack of materials at the end of the project.
“The People’s Millions is run by the Big Lottery Fund in partnership with ITV. Now in its ninth year, the competition gives the public a chance to vote for the community projects they want to receive good cause funding.
“Over the next few weeks the six finalists in each ITV region will be generating as much public support for their project as they can. Each project has an area on the People’s Millions website to share information about their projects and post photos, videos and other material that might encourage people to vote for them.
“I would urge all my constituents in Falkirk East, and supporters further afield, to give this excellent project your support and vote for it on Monday 24th November.
