Festive Message 2014 from Angus MacDonald MSP
Monday, 22 December 2014 12:15
This time of year gives us the chance to reflect upon the previous twelve months - and what a year it’s been - to remember the highs and lows and to think about how we can make 2015 better. On a political note, we must continue to ensure Westminster delivers the powers proposed by the Smith Commission. While it did not deliver the tools that we called for we must make rapid progress in implementing the recommendations of the Smith report.
2014 has brought many challenges for households, not least the rise in the cost of living, however despite the challenges we have all faced I hope you have a chance to relax and celebrate over the festive period, whether with family or friends, or even on your own with the TV as company.
I would like to give a special thanks to the people working in the emergency services over the festive period. Those who work hard to ensure a safe and happy Christmas for everyone by keeping our hospitals, police, fire and ambulance services running. They all deserve a special mention and show of appreciation.
So, here’s to a merry Christmas and a happy New Year to one and all.
