Falkirk East MSP reminds older constituents they can still get their free 2016 Age Scotland calendar from his office 

The MSP for Falkirk East, Angus MacDonald, has teamed up with Age Scotland to promote a campaign to help older people get prepared for winter, stay connected in their communities and keep healthy.

The initiative is backed by the Scottish Government which has helped to fund Age Scotland’s annual ‘Hot Tips’ calendar which will produce more than 80,000 copies of this year’s edition.

The 2016 Calendar offers useful information of how to make your home comfortable, safe and warm as well as ways of keeping yourself mentally and physically healthy, through activities such as adult learning and walking football.

Commenting, Angus MacDonald MSP said, “Age Scotland’s Hot Tips Calendar is a fantastic resource for older people, with winter becoming increasingly severe in Scotland, it’s important that people prepare for what can happen."

Mr. MacDonald continued, "Age Scotland’s ‘Hot Tips’ contain everything you need to stay safe, secure and connected. Pop in to my office at 2 York Arcade, Grangemouth, FK3 8BA to pick up your free copy. There are still some left.”

The Policy Officer for Age Scotland, Ciaran McDonald, added, “This years ‘Hot Tips’ is packed with useful information that will be of interest to older people throughout the year.

Along with tips to make your home comfortable, safe and warm as well as keeping yourself mentally and physically healthy, there is also practical information that could help save you money thanks to contributions from Citizens Advice Scotland and Transport Scotland.”
